The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport is offered in four versions: Base, S, SE and HSE. The Land Rover Discovery Sport 2020 offers excellent off-road capability, but its road handling cannot match rivals and has predicted reliability. The Land Rover Discovery 2020 Sport has no overall score or ranking as it has not been tested for a complete drop. The 2020 Discovery Sport sees several updates making it an attractive choice, although it’s up to you to decide whether to justify the higher price of buying a new model instead of a used one.
The standard features for 2020 include a 10-inch touch screen, forward parking sensors, lane maintenance assistance, and driver sleep monitoring. Newly available features include clear exit assistance, wireless charging, and ClearSight rearview and ClearSight Ground View. Each of these systems uses cameras to see an unobstructed view of what is behind or under the vehicle.
2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Interior
Discovery Sport features an elegant cabin with lots of quality materials. Still, while likable for the price, this Land Rover is a step or two behind the finest interiors in its class. The Land Rover Discovery Sport comes standard with a five-seater seat, but the optional third-row seat expands the capacity to seven. The front seats have a lot of space, although they are firmer than you would expect for a luxury vehicle. The second-row seats are outstanding. There is plenty of head and legroom, as well as ample lining and support. The seats also slide and turn for added comfort. Optional third-row seats are useful, but adults will leave the feeling of sitting in a matchbox.
The standard 2020 Discovery Sport features include dual-zone automatic air conditioning and an InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and multiple USB ports. Available features include a panoramic roof, a wireless charging device, a Meridian audio system, satellite radio, HD radio, navigation pro, Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A Land Rover activity key is also available, which is a carrying foil that you can use to lock and unlock your doors.
2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Engine
All 2020 Discovery Sport models feature a four-cylinder turbo engine. The base engine puts in 246 horsepower – 9 more than in the 2019 model, and the mild-hybrid R-Dynamic HSE power plant puts in 286 horsepower. The base engine sometimes feels weak, and the acceleration of the SUV is mostly lethargic. The HSE is faster off the line thanks to a mildly-hybrid engine, but it’s still not impressive. Both engines come with a nine-speed automatic transmission that sometimes hesitates to shift. Both Discovery Sport drives have the same EPA fuel economy estimates city 19 km/km, highway 24 mpg and 21 mpg combined. Compared to other luxury compact SUVs, the Land Rover is thirsty.
2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Safety
Available active safety features include a head-mounted display, adaptive cruise control, high-speed automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, surround parking system, rear-end warning, and parallel and vertical assistance in the park. Standard driver assistance features include a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic low-speed braking, lane-keeping assistance, and 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Driver Sleep Monitoring.
