2020 Renault Trafic Interior
The interior upgrades for this latest version of the Renault Trafic are quite limited, with a new seat upholstery that is said to be even harder to carry, and some satin chrome detailed on the instrument panel. Again, Trafic underwent a pretty decent overhaul, so it’s still a tough choice. It appears on the Trafic and the larger Renault Master, and although you need to get used to it, after some practice you can very quickly move it to the right angle and get a much clearer view of each approaching traffic at awkward intersections. Renault is making a lot of noise around the storage space in the Trafic and continues to do so with this updated model. Although it has 90 liters, it could still be improved, as there is only one large central dashboard space that is suitable for folders or papers, as well as gloves of average size.
For longer loads, a load barrier is provided that extends the maximum load length in models with a wheelbase of 2537 mm to 3750 mm and from 2937 mm to 4150 mm in long-wheel drive variants. The maximum load volume is 8.6 cubic meters, slightly more than the largest Transit Customer, which can carry 8.3 cubic meters, while the maximum payload is 1075kg in models with a short wheelbase of 2.8 tons and 1280 kg in the van gross weight three-tonne vehicles. The front door is fitted as standard and the rear door is open 180 degrees.
2020 Renault Trafic Engine
Power comes from a 2.0-liter diesel that produces up to 167 hp. There are several different power options, with the dCi 120, dCi 145, and dCi 170 units producing 117 bhp, 143bhp, and 167bhp. All are now Euro-6d compatible and, although they have a higher capacity than the engine in the previous Trafic, they actually manage to reduce fuel consumption by as much as 2mpg on the dCi 145 models. A six-speed manual transmission is still standard throughout the range, but now there is also an option with a six-speed automatic dual-clutch on the two engines with the largest engine. A range of body types is available, including twin-cab vans and minibus variants with seats up to nine. The delivery vans come in a standard version (L1) or wheelbase (L2) with standard (H1) or high (H2) roofs and a load of up to 8.6 cubic meters.
2020 Renault Trafic Safety
Renault Trafic 2020 model gets a steel bulkhead included in all Trafic vans, plus a Safety and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) alarm system with Grip Xtend to help you navigate in tricky conditions. Hill assist and Renault’s wide-view passenger mirror are also standard. Although the latter can be difficult to use effectively, 2020 Renault Trafic fluctuates a lot and is not a patch on an appropriate blind spot monitoring system.
